30 Days with Jacob Frederick
Happy Monday!
I hope you had a great weekend and got to enjoy some time outside with the cooler weather. I'm excited to kick off a month focused on improving nutrition for the whole family.
Now, I wish I could offer a magic fix to make healthy eating effortless—but the reality is, it takes time, practice, and probably a few weeks where it all feels like a mess. And that’s okay. Because the ultimate goal is growth—for you, and for your kids. So why not keep learning?
While the main focus this month will be on nutrition, I’ll also be sharing tips on what I call foundational habits—things like gratitude, positive thinking, and prioritizing experiences. Why? Because the strongest habits start with a strong mindset.
Here’s what to expect:
Meal prep tips and tricks
Simple, family-friendly recipes
Healthy swaps
Mindset habits to build momentum
2–3 short emails each week with one simple action step
✅ Today’s Action Step: Block off 20–30 minutes each week in August for planning and prep. Make reviewing and acting on these emails non-negotiable. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s progress and more confidence by month’s end.
As we go, I’d love to hear from you. What’s been helpful? What are you still struggling with? I’m always here if you need 1:1 support—just reach out!
Let’s build a better, stronger foundation—together. Best in Health Jacob Frederick MS, Pn Lvl 1, ACE - CPT Intentionally Selfish Owner/Health Coach Intentionally Selfish

Happy Hump Day,
I hope your week is going well so far! On Monday, I challenged you to carve out 20 minutes later in the week to plan for the upcoming one. If you haven’t had a chance yet, no worries—you still have time. This simple step is one of the most powerful strategies for building consistency and seeing progress.
As we move forward with building better habits, I wanted to share a quick video on Nutrition Fundamentals and where to begin. The health and wellness space has made nutrition overly complicated, but the truth is this: there are many ways to be successful. The best plan is the one you can follow consistently. So stay curious, commit to learning, and embrace progress over perfection.
Health and well-being aren’t about hitting a finish line—they’re about growing from week to week.

This is the second email in our series, and I hope you’re already noticing a few small wins. Remember, the goal isn’t perfection in week one—it’s showing up a little more consistently than you did before.
If there’s anything else I can do to support you, I’d love your feedback. And if you're ready for more personalized guidance, I offer free 1-on-1 Discovery Sessions—you can schedule one here anytime.

No, Spot TV includes video only, with no audio, to keep the focus on the dancers’ movements and keep our classes distraction-free.
I hope you’ve have a wonderful week and are feeling ready for the new school year! This season always brings change, and with it the chance to pause, adapt, and refocus. Take 10–20 minutes this weekend to reflect: What matters most to you and your family in the next month? How can you approach the transition with curiosity and a growth mindset?
If you’d like support walking through that reflection and planning, you can always schedule a 1:1 with me here.
Weekly Challenge
This week’s challenge is simple: 10 minutes of movement each day.
Walking outside, dancing in the living room, stretching before bed—whatever works for you. The key is planning it ahead of time so you’re more likely to follow through.
A reminder:
Not every challenge will fit everyone—and that’s okay.
Stay curious, not perfect. As Vusi Thembekwayo says: “Perfectionism is not achievable, imperfection is guaranteed, improvement is your goal.”
Nutrition Focus
This week let’s look at healthier alternatives to common kids’ snacks—plus a fun recipe the whole family can try.
Better Snack Swaps
Peanut Butter: Choose brands with only peanuts + salt.
Apple Sauce: White Leaf Provisions, Eden, North Coast, 365, Santa Cruz.
Candy: Unreal, Lovely Lollipops, Yum Earth Giggles, Smart Sweets.
Chicken Nuggets: Perdue, Mary’s Organic, Realgood Chicken.
Whole foods (fruits, veggies, etc.) are always best. But when life gets hectic, having improved convenience options makes a real difference. Family Recipe Here’s a fun dish to try together this week: Goodles Noodles with Veggie-Packed Sauce (Swap the pasta for spaghetti squash if you’d like—or stick with pasta and just load up the sauce with extra veggies!) I’d love to hear what your family thinks—don’t hesitate to share, even if it’s a “not for us” recipe. Every
kitchen experiment is a learning moment!

It is likely the newness of the season has worn off as we move into October, but it is so important for dancers to keep up their commitment to progress. The dancers continue each rehearsal to clean small sections of their routine that add up to a whole dance, showcasing all of their hard work. Here is how you can help:
Practice Videos- Make sure these are submitted. These support the work that has already been done and solidify the cleans. Dancers being able to execute cleans ensures that the whole team is making progress in their routines! Confidence comes from feeling prepared.
Cleans- This is not perfection, but rather uniformity. Highlight for your dancer that this is so the team looks and works together, and subtract the word perfect from the vocabulary. This is a key element to a champion mindset.
We are looking forward to continuing to train this and other key components in our upcoming Mindset workshops with Coach Natasha.
Reminders:
Fill out the surveys below by Friday, October 3rd (TODAY). Makeup and Earrings ordered will have payment applied and charged automatically on October 15th. Hairpieces are at no additional cost.

Pink Week- Sunday, October 5th-October 11th
We are excited to kick off our Pink week, this Sunday, October 5th, to support Breast Cancer awareness, and #TEAMHEATHER! Dancers are invited to wear their pink dance attire and hair accessories, such as headbands and scrunchies (not the adorable beanie shown below). If your dancer wishes to wear their Team Heather t-shirt, they are welcome to arrive and warm up in this, but would be asked to remove for rehearsal.

Going Outside & Subway
If your dancer would like to go outside on break or go to Subway, they must check out and back in with Ms. Amy. With the warm weather, it is just fine to enjoy it while you can, but we must know where your dancer is at all times and ensure there is adult supervision. Please review this expectation with your dancer before next week's classes.

ESSENTIAL PACKAGE UPDATE
We continue to work behind the scenes on getting all items designed and ordered. We have finalized our backpacks, and they have been ordered. We are in the final stage of finalizing the warmup jackets and will be able to proceed with sizing!
T-Shirt Sizes:
Coach Delaney created a poll in BAND for each team member to give their t-shirt size for the additional Worlds Shirt that will replace the spandex shorts.
Tank Top Sizes:
We will be getting measurements from dancers on Sunday as these are custom-made and then process the order next week.
MINDSET
At 360, we believe in building dancers beyond the dance floor. We are excited to share that on Sunday, September 28th, during the first hour of our regularly scheduled rehearsal, we will have one hour with James Silvas Mindset & Peak Performance Specialist. James and Natasha will be working with local teams on Saturday and Sunday, and have the opportunity to connect with our team on Sunday morning.
This will be at no additional cost to your athlete.
Some dancers will already see James and Natasha with their school team, however, every team is unique, and the content that we share and work together on will be personalized to help elevate specifically the 360 Worlds Team!
We are excited for this special opportunity for our team!
pictures Reminder
We are thrilled to share that each dancer will be booking a session with our amazing photographer, Jill Christine Photography, to capture their action shots!
Because everyone’s schedule is different, Jill has kindly agreed to meet individually with each dancer. Since each of our dancers represents a different part of our area, we thought it would be fun to highlight those communities! For example:
Iowa City/North Liberty dancers – choose a local spot in your area for your action shots.
Cedar Rapids dancers - selected a special Cedar Rapids location
Marion dancers – select a location in Marion.
Please reach out to Jill this is due today to schedule your session if you haven't yet. You can text her directly at 319-366-8689. Our goal is to have all individual action shots completed by October 15th. A group photo and official headshots will be taken at the studio at a later date, once our costumes arrive. CORRECTION 9/15- All teams was intended to bring awareness of the inclusion of the Worlds teams. Juniors do not attend the Dells competition, rather Nation's Choice, Dancefest, and GLCC.
Dear Allstars families,
We understand the quick turnaround time for travel arrangements has been less than ideal, and we want to acknowledge that this is not our intent at Studio 360 whenever possible. However, we remain committed to being responsive to the needs of our families and athletes.
Behind the scenes, we’ve continued to advocate on your behalf. While Team Travel Source (TTS) did not have lower-price options available, we persisted in our outreach, and we’re pleased to share that TTS too was responsive and persistent with area hotels. We were able to secure a limited number of additional rooms at a more affordable rate.
We have secured 11 additional reservations at the Ramada by Wyndham Wisconsin Dells. If additional rooms become available after this booking period, you will be the first to know!

Jill Christine Photography – Headshots & Action Shots
We are thrilled to share that each dancer will be booking a session with our amazing photographer, Jill Christine Photography, to capture their action shots!
Because everyone’s schedule is different, Jill has kindly agreed to meet individually with each dancer. Since each of our dancers represents a different part of our area, we thought it would be fun to highlight those communities! For example:
Iowa City/North Liberty dancers – choose a local spot in your area for your action shots.
Cedar Rapids dancers - selected a special Cedar Rapids location
Marion dancers – select a location in Marion.
Please reach out to Jill this week to schedule your session. You can text her directly at 319-366-8689.
Our goal is to have all individual action shots completed by October 15th.
A group photo and official headshots will be taken at the studio at a later date, once our costumes arrive.

Essential Package
We are excited to share that we’re in the final stages of designing the team tank, warm-up, and backpack! These designs will be revealed very soon, before we place the group order.
Update: The original essential package included spandex shorts. After discussing with the team, we learned that everyone already owns black spandex shorts. Instead of adding another pair, we will be including an additional team shirt in the package.
We can’t wait for everyone to see the final designs!
As always, thank you for being part of our Studio 360 Worlds Family. We’re excited for all that’s ahead and appreciate your continued support and engagement.

Dear Mini National and Youth National teams,
We wanted to reach out right away with a new (and exciting!) opportunity for our Mini National and Youth National dancers. We know this was not originally on the calendar, and we recognize the quick turnaround—but we wanted to share the information as soon as the opportunity was presented to us.
This is an optional-but-strongly-encouraged opportunity to perform. However, we will only move forward if all dancers are available. We are currently gathering team availability, and final details—including performance order and viewer logistics—will be shared once we confirm participation with all team members and receive a final schedule from Monticello coaches.
Please fill out this survey no later than Friday, September 12th at noon on whether you are able to attend or not.
Tentative Performance Details
Who: Mini National & Youth National – all routines When: Saturday, October 25th, approx. 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Where: Monticello High School Why:
FREE performance opportunity
Early chance to get these routines on the floor before Nation’s Choice
In-state opportunity for families to see the routines
Chance to receive video feedback from coaches before competing for early bids

Thank you very much for your immediate attention as we continue to try and bring opportunities to these amazing teams at 360!

BAND - is an app that each class teacher uses to upload practice videos, music, individual class information and notifications!

Hello Allstar Families,
First and foremost, we want to extend our sincere apologies for the confusion caused by our previous email regarding hotel bookings for Nation’s Choice and Dance Fest.
Team Travel Source (TTS) had sent a communication to teams that created a sense of urgency we believed required our immediate action. Based on that, we sent an email stating that hotel bookings for these events had to go through TTS.
After further review, this is NOT the case. ✔️ Nation’s Choice (Nov 15) and ✔️ Dance Fest (Jan 9–10) do NOT require housing through Team Travel Source.
We are grateful to those who quickly brought this to our attention, and while we’re sorry for the mix-up, we’re treating it as a “practice fire drill” to help us better navigate urgent travel communications going forward.
What You Need to Know:
We had already secured studio-negotiated room blocks for both of these events—at better pricing and with added perks. THANK YOU HOTEL HEATHER!! Many families have already booked using the links provided earlier in July for Nation's Choice (or will find them below).
Nation’s Choice – Madison, WI
Hotel: Holiday Inn Express & Suites Madison Central Dates: Nov 14–16 Link:Studio 360 at Holiday Inn Express
$129 King Standard
$139 Two Queen Standard
Shuttle to venue provided for dancers and coaches!
Dance Fest – Milwaukee, WI
Hotel: Hyatt Regency Milwaukee Dates: Jan 9–10 Link:Studio 360 Dance Fest Reservation
$109 Double Deluxe
$109 King Deluxe
Note- Milwaukee hotel does not have a pool. The benefit here is that they are connected to the venue via skywalk, and they are offering discounted parking (you pay for parking anywhere downtown). BUT people can book wherever they want if they want to search for a hotel further out of town with a pool. Note that the Dells competition at Kalahari in February may be the pool time you are looking to capture.
*If you would like to keep your TTS bookings, you are welcome to do so and this will not create any issue on our end.
What IS Required for Future Events:
Team Travel Source will be required for our February and March competitions. Details for those events will be communicated as early as this Friday, September 12. These events will have a 48-hour booking window through TTS, and we will make sure that is clearly outlined when the time comes.
Again, we deeply apologize for the miscommunication and appreciate everyone’s understanding and quick feedback. We’re grateful to have a community that looks out for one another, and we’re committed to keeping communication clear moving forward.
Thank you all for your continued support!
With gratitude for your grace,
360 Allstars Leadership Team

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Please arrive in dress code. Get a good night's sleep, eat well before arriving, bring a water bottle and a full lunch.
Monday and Tuesday have three teams, so plan ahead with a cooler containing ice packs to keep lunches from jamming up the fridge.
Due to recent daytime wanderers in the area, dancers will not be allowed to leave to go to Subway unless accompanied by a parent. Please plan accordingly.
Encourage your dancer to have a positive and dedicated attitude, as these will be full sessions.
If your dancer has classes in the evening, parents do not need to pick up in between at 3:30 as staff will be on site.
Thank you in advance for being committed to the whole team's attendance.
We can't wait to reveal this season's fabulous routines!

Friday, August 1st
Picture Order:
Lavender top and denim: Individual headshots and team photo
Change into dance wear, then 2 posed photos (previously called action shots)
Styling: Dancers may wear their hair styled to their preference. Makeup should be natural, rather than stage/all stars competition makeup.
Attire for headshot and team photo: Lavender top and denim bottoms. This can include jeans, shorts, or skirts. Thank you for making this correction, as we are trying something new!
Attire for posed photos: Dance wear color of dancer's choice. We love seeing Studio 360 Colors of Green or Purple.
A 360 Staff member will be present to pose your dancer. Dancers may come with a few ideas, but manage expectations that this may not be the final result. What your dancer has in mind may not photograph well when considering angles, ability to cheat one's smile front, and overall technique execution.
Essential package fulfillment
ALL essential package items will be ordered and fulfilled in the upcoming month. Amy has all measurements for our new style of Allstars black leotard, along with tights, and other apparel. You will need to book an appointment with Amy in the upcoming two weeks to have your dancer sized for footwear. If you wish to size up to use later in the season, you may indicate this to Amy at that time.
Once essential package items are ordered, this will complete the year's purchases and families will be invoiced for any future purchases. This is different than our 2024-25 season, but similar to the 2023-2024 season.
Allstars Website
We will continue to utilize the 360 Allstars webpage to house the season calendar, and a log of each of the emails sent to support our communication efforts. This can be accessed from the studio360dance.net webpage, 360 families, 25-26 Team Communications.

regional choreography July 26-27th (Tiny), July 28th-31st (Mini-Junior) Thank you and see you on the dance floor next week! Studio 360 Allstars Team
Hello!
We are so excited you will be performing in the annual 360 Acro production! Every year, we do a full production run through at the studio before we head to dress rehearsal so teachers can see it all put together and make any necessary tweaks in order for dancers to put on their best performance.
Our full Acro production rehearsal will be at the studio on Friday, May 17th from 5 pm-6:15 pm. Dancers can wear their normal dress code for class.
If your dancer cannot be in attendance please let me know in advance. We would like all students there if possible. Putting together a production is like putting together a puzzle and we want all dancers to feel as prepared as possible.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
Good afternoon!
We are excited to share our In-Studio Dress Rehearsal and Picture Schedule with you, as well as our Prairie Concert Hall Dress Rehearsal schedule!
This year we are doing pictures differently than we have done in the past for our Cedar Rapids location classes. The week of May 20th-24th our photographer, Jill Christine, will be at our Cedar Rapids location to take photos of each class. She will be set up in Studio C for the entire week so your dancers class may be in a different studio. All classes will start and end at their normally scheduled time. Dancers should arrive in-costume, hair, and makeup done for their picture and in-studio rehearsal.
LINK TO IN-STUDIO DRESS REHEARSAL/PICTURE SCHEDULE (CR location only)
On May 28th and/or 29th, your dancer will have their dress rehearsal time at Prairie High School Concert Hall. They will only come to practice their routine on stage since pictures will be done the week prior. Dancers need to be in costume, hair, and makeup for their on-stage dress rehearsal time.
Your teachers will be sending out via email and in your class Band, a "cheat sheet" that has only your dancers class times. We understand the full schedule can be difficult to read so this cheat sheet will be your guide!
Solon Classes - You will do in-studio dress rehearsal the week of May 20th-24th, at The Empire at your regularly scheduled class time. Pictures will be at the Prairie High School Concert Hall on May 30th. Jill Christine will be set up in the choir room to do pictures. Following their picture time, dancers will have their on-stage rehearsal in the concert hall. You will also receive a cheat sheet from your teachers.
LINK TO PRAIRIE CONCERT HALL DRESS REHEARSAL SCHEDULE (CR and Solon locations)
For ALL DATES AND DRESS REHEARSALS, dancers need to arrive performance ready. This means they should be in costume including accessories, with hair in a middle part slicked back low bun, makeup on, tights, and proper dance shoes.
The Studio 360 Recital 2024 Costume Look Book will be coming very soon. This will have all the information you need pertaining to your dancers costume. You will be able to find this under the Recital 2024 tab on the Studio 360 Website (also linked here).
As a reminder, you should have joined your class Band where your teacher will be posting class specific information.
Please let us know if you have any questions! Thank you,

Hello!
Due to All Star Auditions, we are changing the date of the Solon Acro production rehearsal to Friday, May 17th from 5:00-6:15 at the Empire.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please email Ms. Karli if you are unable to attend.
Let us know if you have any questions! Thanks.
Hello!
I have been enjoying working with your dancers this year! They are such a fun group! I wanted to let you know I would like to make a small change to the practice video requirements on Band. I decided to make this change after last Thursdays rehearsal when many dancers forgot the changes we made on Sunday and they also hadn't posted a video yet for that week.
I would like dancers to post at least one of their two practice videos between our Sunday and Thursday rehearsals. This will make our shorter 30 min rehearsal on Thursday more effective so we can right to cleaning instead of re-teaching.
Here is a reminder of the practice video requirements:
***2 videos due per week*** Must be posted under challenge. Challenge begins on Mondays and will end on the following Sunday. Post video with music! Use most recent practice video to practice with before recording video. Goal is to record video without having to follow along with practice video! Please post at least one of the two videos between Sunday and Thursday rehearsals. Please reach out if you have any questions
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
Good Afternoon 360 All Star Families!
One of our values at Studio 360 is Growth and Commitment! As a staff, we looked at each value and worked on how we demonstrated this in action. We were approached with this amazing opportunity and knew it aligned with those values.
We are SO excited to announce that Mr. Richard LOVED working at 360 and with your dancers this summer that he will have a residency here at 360! All 360 All Star Regional and National dancers will work with Mr. Richard!
Who is Mr. Richard?
Mr. Richard worked with your dancer this past summer during All Star camp and has taught nearly every summer at Studio 360 camps! He is an industry leader in breaking down skills such as turns, jumps, and balance. Having him as a resident for our students is truly an honor and says a lot about your dancer, as he only works with students he feels are completely committed to growth. You can read more about Mr. Richard in the attachment.
Attachment: RICHARD SMITH.pdf (278.7kB)
What is a residency?
Residency is for top dance professionals to travel to select dance studios throughout the year to work with students continuously. This provides more student growth throughout the year instead of just once a year at camps. Mr. Richard will be here 5 times this year!
October 22nd
November 19th
December 10th
February 11th
May 5th (Tentative)
What does it cost?
This will not cost anything extra for your family!!! Woohoo! Just extra instruction for your dancer!
What do I need to know?
We worked to ensure no rehearsal time will be missed on the weeks that Mr. Richard is at 360. However, Sunday class times will be different for your dancer. We have attached the altered Sunday schedule. Please keep this schedule handy and give it to your dancers to prepare them for the dates they have, Mr. Richard.
Attachment: Altered Schedule.pdf (164.6kB)
Youth Pom Crossovers - Will attend the Youth Mr. Richard Class Block.
Delaney E. - Attend the Jr/Sr Mr. Richard Class. During the following week, attend the Jr/Sr technique blocks.
That's it! There is no need to do anything besides mark your calendars and note the time changes. We will send a reminder the week of each session, as we know families' schedules are busy!
We are very excited to provide this amazing opportunity to your dancer! Bringing in the top professionals to work with your dancers and help them grow in their goals!
Have a great rest of your week!
Good Afternoon,
I am emailing to let you know we were unable to register the studio for Beyond the Stars. Unfortunately this competition sold out sooner than we had anticipated. We have selected a new competition on the SAME WEEKEND. We will be attending Waves Dance Competition on April 5th-7th in Ames, IA.
Venue Location:
Ames City Auditorium
520 6th Street
Ames, IA, 50010
Please let me know if you have any questions. We apologize for this unexpected change but we are excited to experience a new competition that seems to align with our studio values!
Thank you!
Hey All Star Dancers!
We are excited to kick off the new season!!
Ever wonder...how in the world do these All Star teams turn so many times?? We got the secret... it's not more classes, it's not more money for private lessons, it's at home daily practice!
This was a challenge given to us by our choreographer Miss. Chelsea. She uses this same challenge with her All Star teams and has amazing results with her students! Chelsea has used this technique with her tinies to her senior teams that have won numerous World titles and Summit titles!
The challenge is optional for dancers, and it's a fun and motivating way to practice their turns daily! Turns are something that takes continuous improvement and takes consistent practice and dedication to get.
To start the challenge - here is the BAND link. The directions are in the BAND.
https://band.us/n/acac9b5bm659J
I will give feedback to dancers who post in this BAND on improving their turns. This is a FREE way to get teacher feedback.
I'm excited to see dancers turning and reaching their turn goals! Go 360 All Stars!
Ms. Natasha

Student Code of Conduct
I promise to be kind and respectful to my peers, teachers, and parents. I will treat others how I would want to be treated.
I promise to follow all dress codes and rules discussed so that everyone has a positive dance experience.
I promise to give 100% effort into all of my classes as my teachers want the best for me and to see me succeed. Each critique is a personal investment my teacher makes for me, and I can grow as a dancer.
I promise to be positive and have a growth mindset to learn and grow in dance. I will tell myself positive things, and when things are hard for me, I will remember that I am learning and growing, and it's okay for something to be complicated.
I promise to attend classes regularly and be on time. In addition, I will keep my cell phones in my bag and not wear a smartwatch.
I promise to have positive intent. My teachers might give me a critique to make me a better dancer, not to bring me down.
Parent Code of Conduct
To have a positive and enjoyable dance experience for all families, we ask that the parents follow a code of conduct policy to ensure that their dancer has a positive dance experience.
I promise to be positive and encouraging during my dancer's dance education. I know that dance education is about growth and that the lessons my dancer is learning are more than just dance steps.
I promise to help prepare my dancer for class by getting my dancer to class on time and in dress code to help them learn the valuable lesson of responsibility and being on time.
I promise not to gossip and be “that kind of dance mom” in the lobby. If I have a problem, I will directly solve the problem professionally and kindly.
I promise to have positive intent and remember as the instructors want the best for my dancer and are helping my child grow through dance education.
I will focus on my child’s growth and promise not to compare my dancer to others, as no two dancers are alike.
I will encourage my dancer to be Fearless and to accept feedback. I understand my child will be pushed outside of their comfort zone, and it will enable them to take chances. I know that making mistakes is part of growing, and I will encourage my child to continue and push through.
I promise to read all my emails and make sure that I keep up to date with studio happenings and with my account.
Failure of conduct could include suspension and removal from class and studio. Refunds will not be given to students and families that are removed due to violating the code of conduct.
