Prepare for a Successful Recital with These Tips!
February 1st marks the halfway point of winter, which means spring is right around the corner! We have had a fantastic first month of classes at Studio 360 and we love the energy in our classrooms and lobby as we head into recital season. To help your dancer be successful with their recital routines, here are a few tips.
Attend Class Regularly Classes each week to learn new choreography. To keep learning on track, all dancers must keep up with their memorization and know where to stand and how to travel within the routine. When dancers are missing, it slows their progress and the entire class's progress. It is important to attend class regularly so that your dancer is keeping up with the choreography and can easily adjust when needed.
Practice At Home Taking some time outside of class to practice helps dancers learn more quickly and retain information better. You don’t need any fancy equipment either - just find an open space like a living room or basement! Use your dancer's BAND class link, and make sure they stay focused on their technique as well as memorizing steps. Please do not have them do any tumbling skills. Practicing at home will help them be prepared for whatever changes may come up during dance classes or rehearsals leading up to the recital show.
Set Goals Setting goals is always important in any activity, especially when preparing for a big event like a recital show! Have your dancer set small goals that they can achieve throughout their practice sessions that will eventually build up to bigger goals - this way they’ll feel accomplished along their journey toward success in the show!
Preparing for a recital show can be fun but it doesn’t have to be overwhelming if you use these simple tips! Making sure your dancer attends class regularly, practices at home and sets goals will ensure they are ready for success on stage come recital day! With these tips in mind, you’ll be ready to shine on opening night! Good luck!

Recital 2023
Look for these updates coming this month on our Recital 2023 Website!
Dress Rehearsal Schedule - Dress rehearsal times are assigned for each dance class and are different from your dancer's normal class time. Each class will include a stretch/warm-up, individual and group pictures as well as stage practice. This is an important step in the performance preparation process and should not be missed. Be sure to check the schedule for any adjustments or changes that may be necessary in order to successfully participate in all of the required rehearsals.
My Hero and Me Registration Remind your special person to save the date and join you on stage for an unforgettable experience! We are excited to open our doors to all dancers and their special persons, allowing them to perform together in our special event. Dancers can show off their best dance moves in costume and their special person will add a professional touch by wearing a 360 Recital Shirt, black pants/leggings, and clean black shoes. It's easy to take part - sign up online and we will provide a video that teaches the routine. In addition, we will have a dress rehearsal so everyone can practice before taking the stage. Join us for this memorable opportunity today!
Reminders
JackRabbit Parent Portal
Remind yourself to log in to your parent portal next time your child is under the weather or taking a well-deserved vacation! Not only will it alert our staff and office of your dancers' absence, but you can also schedule a make-up class at the same time. Keeping up with their dance education is easy and efficient with this convenient feature on the Parent Portal. Make sure your dancer never misses a beat!
Dress Down for a Cause
Have fun and help fight heart disease this February by participating in our "Dress Down for a Cause!" campaign! We invite all dancers to dress up in their favorite Valentine's Day attire - think purples, pinks, reds, hearts, red tutus, fun socks, and more! All you need to do is donate $1 per class that you attend during the week of February 7th-14th. As a bonus, when you make your donation we'll also give you a heart with your name on it to put up on the windows. Let's share some love and make our windows sparkle with support for the American Heart Association! Together we can make a difference and have fun in the process.
Dancer of the Day
It's time to get excited - we've tweaked our Dancer of the Day contest to be cooler than ever! For classes with students ages 5 and up, we're introducing a stamp system awarding dancers who demonstrate top behavior in our studio. Not only will these exceptional dancers get recognition for their hard work, but at the end of the month, we will select our "Students of the Month" per age range (5-8, 9-12, 13-18) and will they will receive an awesome prize from us! These hard-working students will be rewarded with gift cards to some amazing places like Starbucks and Target. We are thrilled that we can now recognize and reward our dancers who give their personal best - let the fun begin!
